M.S. Mathematics of Sports and Athletics
Advanced study connecting mathematics, movement, and performance.
I’m Annika Kahn — mathematician, educator, athlete, mom, and founder of I Speak Math.
For more than 20 years, I’ve taught mathematics and helped students find the visual, pattern, explanation, or unexpected connection that makes mathematics finally click.
I’ve worked with students from age 5 through college and adulthood, from foundational math through Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Precalculus, college math, and test preparation.
But the goal is bigger than an assignment or a score. It is learning to recognize patterns, think mathematically, build confidence, and discover that math can be genuinely interesting.
Mathematics becomes much more interesting when you see it as a way of describing the world, not just a set of rules on a page.
A story of progress, persistence, and a student learning to trust his mathematical thinking.
I am also a four-time World Grand Champion in martial arts.
Athletics taught me something that applies beautifully to mathematics: eventually, what once seemed impossible starts to feel natural. Math works the same way.
Progress does not come from getting everything right immediately. It comes from trying, noticing what happened, adjusting, and building confidence through practice.
